Benjamin D. Cushman, WSBA#26358
Ben is a native of Olympia, and his family has been in the region for more than 100 years. He went to Reeves Middle School and Capitol High School before graduating from Reed College with a B.A. in Philosophy and a J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School (formerly Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College). He is an active member of the Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and North Carolina State Bar Associations.
Ben has spent 20+ years handling simple and complex, public and private construction issues, land use matters, contract drafting, review and negotiation, timber trespass, boundary disputes, negotiated easements, commercial/business transactions, and landlord/tenant matters. He has won many bid protests on public works projects and has handled litigation regarding all manner of public and private construction projects.
Ben was a partner at Cushman Law Offices until the end of July 2017, when he and his wife, Deborah Reback-Cushman, decided turn Deschutes Law Group, into a family affair.
Ben is a tenacious attorney who truly cares about his clients and works hard to achieve the best outcome possible for them. He is a straight shooter and does his best to evaluate the merits of your case from the outset so that you can choose the best option for you.
Deborah Reback-Cushman, WSBA #50181
Deborah is a dog-loving transplant from California who absolutely adores the Pacific Northwest! She moved to Olympia in 2004 to marry her law-school sweetheart who was a partner in a law firm in Olympia.
Deborah graduated magna cum laude and phi beta kappa, from Wellesley College with a B.A. in Geology and received her J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School (formerly Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College). She is an active member of the Washington State Bar, and an inactive member of the California State Bar.
Deborah has significant commercial and bankruptcy experience. She spent two years as an office manager/firm administrator at a small law firm and more than two years as a vendor contract manager for Western Institutional Review Board, Inc.
After passing the bar in Washington State in 2015, Deborah spent the next two years as an attorney/law clerk for a Chapter 7 trustee where she learned about a wide variety of bankruptcy matters. In June 2017, she opened Deschutes Law Group in order to assist small businesses and personal clients with commercial and bankruptcy matters.
